The Sudoku Tanto puzzle has exactly the same rules as a Standard Sudoku. There are, however, shaded cells within the puzzle. These shaded cells represent the locations of all the even numbers (2,4,6 & 8). This constraint allows the design of puzzles with considerably fewer digits present in the unsolved puzzles. Once again, the Sudoku Tanto puzzles from Sudexel are all designed in-house using a combination of manual and computer aided design. The puzzles are all designed with a symmetry in their unsolved grids and are objectively graded by computer in levels Easy, Medium, & Difficult. As with Sudoku puzzles, Sudoku Tanto are also available in "Designer" layouts, one example being the heart design above.
